Photo Gallery | Morning fog along the Mississippi River
Dense fog greeted early risers in the Mid-South Friday morning.
A wet ground coupled with cool air and a calm wind allowed thick fog to blanket the area. At one point visibility was down to less than a quarter of a mile.
As a result, a Dense Fog Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service. At its peak around sunrise, Eric Scruggs was snapping some amazing pictures downtown and was kind enough to share them with us.
By late morning the fog was giving way to some well deserved sunshine and rising temperatures.
After a somewhat cold and soggy middle of the week we'll finally enjoy a drier and much warmer weather pattern through the weekend and into the beginning of next week.
