Photo Gallery | Sideburns, sunglasses, smiles: Elvis tribute artists surprise Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
Patients at Le Bonheur Children's hospital had quite the surprise Friday morning when nearly a dozen Elvis Tribute artists showed up with gold jackets and a guitar. Soon enough dozens of patients and staff members were snapping along to fan favorites.
A therapist said one of the patients smiled for the first time in three weeks.
The top ten finalists of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest were just glad to share one of Elvis' truest forms, bringing happiness to people.
"The great thing about Elvis is he made people happy," said tribute artist Dean Z. "So it's the best part of the job: You give back. It makes me feel good to put a smile on somebody's face."
But before the Elvis tribute artists left the building, performers and patients alike sat down to eat an Elvis favorite – a peanut butter and banana sandwich.
