MEMPHIS, TN—July 6, 2010, Mayor A C Wharton, Jr. released this statement today regarding bicycle lanes and the Engineering Division’s search for a new Bicycle/Pedestrian (Bike/Ped) Coordinator:

“Our capital improvement program (CIP) budget will pay for two significant repaving projects—Southern Avenue and Cooper Street—that will include bike lanes this year.  This will add many miles of bike lanes and connect many neighborhoods throughout the core of our city.

Rules for tree debris removal

The city of Memphis' Public Works department sent out a press release Wednesday to remind residents about rules pertaining the removal and disposal of tree debris generated by private contractors.
