FedEx St. Jude Classic Winner Dustin Johnson lifts patients' spirits

FedEx St. Jude Classic Winner Dustin Johnson lifts patients' spirits

Dustin Johnson came to Memphis last week to play in the FedEx St. Jude Classic, but he also took the time to lift the spirits of St. Jude patients.

Dustin won the tournament and is now going into the U.S. Open with more tournament wins than any other 20-something PGA player.

Dustin's participation in St. Jude's Golf-A-Round was especially exciting for our patients. Playing a round of mini golf with one of the best players on the globe was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these special children.

Dustin also attended the St. Jude Presents John Rich & Firends Concert and purchased a giant portait of himself during the event's live auction. His $12,000 bid will help the hospital continue to treat children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases with pioneering research and exceptional care all while ensuring that no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.

During the spring 2012 semester Lander’s web publishing class required a blog as a final project.  As a result, this non-traditional student chose to create a “Memphis Cyclist” website.

Hundreds of Mid-South fisherman are gearing up to compete for a good cause this Memorial Day weekend in the St. Jude Bass Classic. The tournament is celebrating its' 40th year.

More than $2.5 million dollars have been raised since the competition’s beginning. Every dollar goes right to the hospital.

Each year the tournament focuses on one special patient, and fishing is a big part of this year’s patients’ family.

Hayden Taylor was recently diagnosed with cancer. Taylor and his father were out on the boat fishing when they received a phone call with the life-changing news.

Taylor’s family will drive from Virginia to be a part of the tournament.
