Memphis Madness set for October 12 | Sports & Recreation

(WMC-TV) - The much-hyped Memphis Tigers will kick off their 2012-13 campaign with the annual Memphis Madness at FedExForum.

The tip-off celebration for both the Tigers men’s and women’s basketball programs is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 12 at FedExForum.   Doors for the free event open at  5:30 p.m. and parking at the arena is $5.

The Memphis women's squad will practice first, followed an autograph session with the men's hoops team at 6:45.  On-the-court festivities start at 7:30 p.m. with the women’s squad introductions.  Shortly after 8 p.m. the Tigers will be introduced, followed by the three-point and dunk contests.

Fans will also have a chance to win prizes during the event, including a 2012 Ford-150 and an all-expenses paid trip to The Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Other prizes are two $500 City Gear shopping sprees, Taco Bell for a year, Wing Stop for a year, a Nintendo Wii (courtesy of Blue Cross/Blue Shield) and other prizes from Ashley Furniture.
