Some local high school students tackled architect R. Buckminster Fuller’s famed geodesic dome during the University of Memphis’ Architecture Summer Camp.

Architects from local firm brg3s lectured on structural design and helped the students build their newspaper dome.

“The camp, jointly sponsored by the University of Memphis and the Memphis Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is aimed for those interested in learning more about the art and science of design,” said organizers.

The Architecture Summer Camp was held June 2 through June 14 on the University of Memphis campus.

Students who partiipated include Jacob Buring, Adam Posey, Taylor Bond, Nicholas Atkinson, Julian Phillips, Quentin Payne, Jessica Brewer, Daniel Curl, Shaq Jones, Ryan Smith, Graham Crump, Allison Fetz, Malik Muhammad, Patrick Greene, Bryan Mejia, Jalillian Davidson, Cristian Colon, Cameron Benson, William Suggs and Joe Platt.
