City of Memphis: Wharton did not authorize 'If you are stopped by the police' pamphlet
The City of Memphis responded to a controversial pamphlet Wednesday.
Mayor A C Wharton said he did not authorize a "If you are stopped by the police" pamphlet.
The guide claims to be from the Civilian Law Enforcement Review Board, which is currently inactive.
Officials said the document is an exact copy of an old pamphlet, but just has Wharton's name.
Right now, the mayor's office is asking people not to circulate the guide.
