MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) - The Million Dollar Quartet, an  international smash tour finally made its way to its roots in Memphis. The cast gave an all out jam-session Tuesday at the Rock-n-Roll Museum, it was a power-house performance preview to a packed audience.

It was a famous Sun Studio photograph of a star-studded quartet that inspired a Tony-award winning Broadway musical - it is a revival said to be one of the greatest recording sessions in history.

The musical remembers the night when a twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins together in 1956 at Sun Studios.

"This is where it really happened. This is Sun Studios, so to be here, we're very excited," said cast member Martin Kaye - as Jerry Lee Lewis

The winner of 2011 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artists contest, Cody Slaughter says playing the icon is a once in a lifetime experience.

"When you're a little kid, you have big dreams and for me my dream when I was little was to be Elvis - and so as time goes on and I'm getting to play Elvis in a Broadway play, it's pretty awesome," he said.

The quartet said not only will there be a "Whole Lot of Shaking Going On" in the performance - but the audience is in for a live rock-n-roll concert.

"Everything that we do is live, there's no hidden orchestra, what you see is what you hear," said cast member Derek Keeling- as Johnny Cash.
