Bellevue's The Majesty of Christmas: "An Irish Christmas"

Special guests Keith and Kristyn Getty will join the Bellevue Choir and Orchestra for this year’s celebration of The Majesty of Christmas.  Favorites at Bellevue, the Gettys return to premiere their new Christmas CD and will bring an expanded band with them.  The Getty's music is used in churches worldwide and they have written songs such as "In Christ Alone", "The Power Of The Cross", and "Come, People Of The Risen King."

The evening will be a blend of Christmas favorites, traditional carols, and new music written by Keith, Kristyn, and their team.  Combine their band and awe-inspiring music with over 200 voices of the Bellevue Choir and the magnificent Bellevue Orchestra, and it will be an evening you will not want to miss.

Here's a great cake recipe that's sure to be a hit with your friends and family!

Make your favorite yellow cake recipe or box cake.  Make cake in two, eight inch round pans. After cake is cooled, slice each layer in half horizontally so you now have four layers.

Frosting:

1/4 lb. butter or margarine (1 stick)

3/4 cup sugar (white granulated)

2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add melted chocolate and vanilla.  Beat until smooth.  Add eggs one at a time, beating for 5 minutes after each.  Chill before spreading on cake.  Frost between layers and top of cake.  Refrigerate.

A rummage sale Saturday in Collierville to benefit 2 Memphis Police Officers

Memphis Pink is sponsoring a rummage sale this Saturday in Collierville to benefit two Memphis Police Officers.  Officer Anthony Rahming died earlier this month from a heart attack after working a fatal crash scene in the sweltering heat.  Officer Jared Lucius has been diagnosed with a rare brain disease and has recently undergone corrective surgery.  All proceeds will be split evenly between the families of Officer Rahming and Officer Lucius.

The rummage sale will take place on Saturday, September 3 from 8am-2pm at the Landmark Community Bank in Collierville, TN.  In addition to the rummage sale, we will also have face painting, refreshments, and paracord bracelets.
