Look, But Don't Touch: A Night of Fashion, Music, and Photography

If you are looking for a night full of fashion and entertainment, don’t miss “Look, but Don’t Touch.” Downtown Memphis fashion boutique K’PreSha is hosting this event on Saturday, March 30th.

This event will fuse fashion, music and photography all into one setting. “Look, but Don’t Touch” will give local designers a chance to show their designs in a way that showcases what inspired their work. Models will wear outfits accented with eye-catching makeup and hairstyles.

Not only will clothing items be on display at this event, but also shoes, handbags and accessories. These items will be for sale.

Local clothing brand Team You Are Blessed (TYAB) is the featured clothing line at “Look, but Don’t Touch.” TYAB is a clothing line by college students James Bowman (“The P.O.E.T.) and Garrison Green.

This elaborate fashion event starts at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at K’PreSha Boutique located at 323 South Main Street. It is free and open to the public.

'Tour de Grizz' to hit Memphis Zoo

The Memphis Grizzlies and the Memphis Zoo are encouraging fans to take part in the fifth annual Tour De Grizz on Saturday, April 13.

This bike tour around the city will preface the Grizzlies hosting the Los Angeles Clippers.

Riders will get a ticket to see the grizzly bears at the zoo and then hop on their bikes for a police-escorted, five mile ride to the FedExForum.

Bike valet parking will be avaible at the Forum and riders will leave 20 minutes after the final buzzer to ride back to the zoo.

Packages start at $30.

Grizzlies play hoops for kids at St. Jude

The Memphis Grizzlies will tip-off Hoops for St. Jude week Monday, February 25 with their annual visit to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Grizzlies' player and Hoops for St. Jude ambassador Marc Gasol will be joined by teammates Tayshaun Prince, Ed Davis, Austin Daye and Jon Leuer as he visits with St. Jude patients and their families.

The players will sign autographs and pose for photos.

On Wednesday, February 27 the Grizzlies will host Hoops for St. Jude Night when they take on the Dallas Mavericks at FedExForum at 7 p.m.

Grizzlies Head Coach Lionel Hollins, along with members of the coaching and broadcasting staffs, will wear St. Jude lapel pins in support of Hoops for St. Jude week.

Mid-South restaurants serve up at Soup Sunday

Many of the finest restaurants in the Mid-South teamed up Sunday to raise money for Youth Villages.

The event was the annual Soup Sunday Fundraiser, and for several hours it turned the FedEx Forum into a food paradise.

The event hit a high note with Mid-Southerners looking to enjoy some good food along with good music.

More than 50 restaurants put out some of their best food for this event, and that includes desserts by Chef Phillip Rix.

"It's a morello cherry caramel, and a peanut butter milk chocolate ganache," said Rix describing the dessert.

Just down the hall, managers from Jim's Place restaurant were describing their special gouda dish.

"We use 100 percent smoked gouda with our russet potatoes," said James Tara from Jim's Place.

Over the years Soup Sunday has raised more than a million dollars for Youth Villages programs that helps foster kids.
