Title (Max 100 Characters)
The old saying goes: if you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. However, in this case, it's if you can't stand the cold, get out of the river!
Special Olympics Greater Memphis is calling the brave and the kind at heart to join them for the 14th Annual Polar Bear Plunge and 7th Annual Chili Cook-Off February 2 at Mud Island River Park at 3 p.m. It's all to raise funds for the Special Olympics athletes, but it could be rewarding for you too.
Participants in the polar plunge will jump into the Wolf River Harbor, and the plungers who raise the most money and wear the best costumes will receive awards. In the chili cook-off, teams will be vying for titles in Best Salsa, Best Chili, and Showmanship categories. The gates at Mud Island River Park will open up at 10:00 a.m. for the cook-off.
