Mid-South participates in National Cereal Drive

Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Boy Scouts of America, and the Mid-South Food Bank, will work together for the second year to help stamp out childhood hunger. The annual Professional Nursing Council’s Cereal Drive, helps to fill local food banks by donating boxes of healthy cereals. “These boxes of cereal will help feed breakfast to children in the Mid-South,” said Paula Dycus, Administrative Director of Professional Practice & Research at Le Bonheur. Dycus added more than 17 percent of the Tennessee state population lives in food insecure households, according to Feed America. Every box of cereal will help feed 10 children.

Le Bonheur pledges to collect 350,000 servings, that is approximately 35,000 boxes of cereal. Hospital staff, volunteers, and community members are invited to help Le Bonheur reach the goal.
