Undercover officers bust Craigslist scam | Crime

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is making Craigslist a little safer for users to buy or find items.
Melvin Burner was arrested Wednesday after using Craigslist as a way to sell items that he never delivered.
Detectives received a tip regarding the scam Burner was running.
Undercover units were contacted to investigate the allegations.
Undercover officers met with Burner after he agreed to sell them some merchandise.
Burner sold an item to the officers for $500, but he never delivered it.
As Burner was attempting to leave the scene, detectives from ALERT and Narcotics took him into custody for theft.
Additional changes are pending as additional reports are reviewed.
