First Tennessee offers relief, flood donations | Business
Matching funds, waived fees and Facebook "likes" are how First Tennessee Bank's easing flood tensions.
Bank officials announced Monday that the First Tennessee Foundation will match donations to the American Red Cross and Salvation Army by its employees and the public up to $250,000. Customers can also donate to those relief agencies at any Shelby County-branch First Tennessee Bank.
The bank will also extend more flexible credit options for auto, real estate and equipment loans to consumers who've suffered damage or loss in the flooding.
"All options are subject to credit approval, and borrowers must be located in areas designated by FEMA as disaster areas," said spokesperson Jack Bradley in a news release.
First Tennessee will also waive ATM fees on non-customers from May 8 to May 22 at select First Tennessee ATM's in affected areas and donate $1 to relief agencies for every new "like" on the First Tennessee Facebook page (www.facebook.com/firsttennessee).
