National Adoption Day was celebrated at the Shelby County Courthouse Saturday.
The court finalized 10 adoptions through the department of children's services.
For the past 10 years Chancellor Arnold Golden has opened up his courtroom the weekend before Thanksgiving to honor families who adopt.
“I don't know what I'd do without my kids my boys they give me a lot of joy they keep me going all day long so I'm okay with that,” said dad Ervin Frye.
This is Frye's sixth adoption.
National Adoption day was created to raise awareness of the more than 100 thousand children in foster care waiting to find permanent families.
