About Us
The Eye Center, located at 1225 Madison Avenue, is affiliated with Southern College of Optometry, a Memphis healthcare provider since 1932. Since it first opened in 2002, The Eye Center has welcomed more than 45,000 patients each year to our midtown location in the heart of the Memphis Medical Center district.
The Eye Center offers doctors with advanced degrees and training, a renowned reputation for excellence in patient care, and services for all ages, ranging from infants to seniors. The doctors at The Eye Center are also educators, training interns and residents to use the newest techniques and treatment options for diseases and disorders of the eye and visual system.

As a teaching facility, The Eye Center is divided into service areas. These service areas cover a wide range of vision needs for our patients, including:
•Adult Primary Care Service, for patients older than 12
•Pediatric Primary Care Service, for patients 12 and under
•Cornea and Contact Lens Service, for patients of all ages
•Advanced Care Ocular Disease Service, for treatment of eye disease
•Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation Service, for patients of all ages
•The Technology Center, featuring the latest technology for vision testing and measurement
•The Eye Center Optical, offering designer and practical eyewear for the whole family
Our doctors diagnose and treat eye disease that threatens your sight, assess your vision health to determine the presence of disease such as diabetes or high blood pressure, help your children see better at school and play, and provide you with fashionable eyewear to improve your vision.
As a teaching facility, each patient is cared for by one of our doctors and one or more interns. Our interns serve as non-physician extenders in providing your care while learning from your attending doctor.
